I bought this less than 2 years ago and after limited use the subwoofer failed. LG was no help offering only to repair it at my cost if I shipped it back. There are many reviews of subwoofer problems. Ill spend my money on another brand rather than on getting this repaired

Why has my subwoofer stopped working

I bought the sound bar with my 65 GX tv in April21 and by August 22 the subwoofer stopped working. The power light doesnt come on. LG phone tech did what he could but its dead. Its also concerning how little support there is for this product. I live in Chicago area too.

Seamless customer service experience

Bought a 3.1 LG Soundbar about a year ago and paired it to my LG TV. Fantastic sound and worked liked a charm until the sub woofer died. Inexplicable but would not power up. Got on the phone with a very friendly customer service rep who agreed it needed to be sent back/repaired. She sent me a FedEx label and boxing materials. I then sent the entire unit back to LG. 10 days later I received it back and hooked it back up to my TV and everything works like a charm. I think they actually just replaced the Sub which I was happy with.

Lasted just under 2 years before the subwoofer died. Read online and see that hundreds of people had the same issue after a firmware update pushed out by LG. Customer service would not do anything but recommend taking it to one of their service centers to pay $150+ to repair.

Same as every one else was great until the subwoofer died after less than two years of limited use. Very disappointing. Obviously a systemic design or manufacturing issue. LG should provide an extended warranty or recall this product. Will not consider LG products in the future.

Im giving this a terrible review because the subwoofer does not will not and can not connect. I have gone through all of the steps to fix this that are both online and through LGs customer service with no results. No there is not light on the subwoofer at all and it will not turn on. They said that my product was out of warranty and gave me the number of a repairman lol. Kill me. What is the point of this? You cant stand by your product and instead send me to a 3rd party to get it fixed? The cost of the fix is more than the unit is worth. Sound quality was overall poor and we are in a row home so you are very close to the system. The major gripe of course is the lack of connection on the subwoofer but overall the product is bad. Avoid.

Subwoofer stopped working

Like many reviewers my subwoofer stopped working about a year after purchase. I went through most of the measures online to correct the problem but they either did not work or the solution only fixed the problem a short period. I eventually sought out the source LG and went through a lengthy communication over phone and later email. The outcome of our communication was awesome. I sent the unit free of charge back to LG and they fixed the problem free of charge. This was latter 2019 when the issue began and the repairs were completed by early 2020. Ive had no other issues with my system since that repair.

Purchased the soundbar and subwolfer when I bought an LG OLED TV. Product worked great until it didnt. Like so many who have written reviews the subwolfer just stopped working. No power. Done. Did all the troubleshooting. To add insult to injury the support from the chat was as bad as it gets. Frustrating and useless. The TV has been great but I would NOT purchase the soundbar and subwolfer and wont purchase any LG audio products in the future

I bought this product 1 year and 3 months ago. After moving the subwoofer and plugging it in I noticed that it was not working. Upon further inspection I noticed that the light on the back of the subwoofer was not on. There is a power plug and 1 button on this device and it stopped working after 1 year and 3 months. Manufacturers warranty only covers 1 year and I was told that I will have to pay for the repairs. I will not be repairing this device and will never buy another LG sound bar

The Good: I purchased this to improve dialog during movies and it made and IMMEDIATE impact. Clear separation and a substantial improvement over previous 2.1 sandbars. The bass response is good and the ability to place anywhere to improve sound is a great advantage. The Bad: The subwoofer stopped working and it rendered the system unusable for movies. It became evident that Much of the midrange was being handled by the subwoofer and while dialog was still good and the sound became thin and narrow. The Bonus: Currently being fixed by LG even though warranty expired by two days. Waiting for system to come back. Currently avoiding movies as sound thru TV is junk.

Great....Until it Stopped Working

The system was great and I enjoyed it in combination with an LG Oled TV which I purchased at the same time. However as many people have reported the subwoofer stopped connecting last week. Ive had it for about 16 months just out of warranty. I thought it was something I was doing wrong until I started reading the reviews. I might have to try another product or get a soundbar with a wired sub. Very disappointing especially since it worked great until the warranty ended.

Great sound when bought new

The sound was great when I purchased it the sound bar and subwoofer. However the sound started deteriorating after approximately ten months of use. Finally it stopped working all together. I sent it in for repair and it worked for approximately one week. The sound isnt clear and it had a static sound.

In December 2021 I bought this with a new LG 65 tv. I found it to be much more difficult to set up than other sound bars. Once it was up a working using HDMI-ARC i began to experience the bass fading out and then back in periodically. The sound bar failed in early March 2021. I contacted factory support and the sent me a Return Authorization on the second attempt. The unit was packed up and sent to LGs repair facility. I was updated that parts had been ordered by email. All told the repair was not complete untill early April. The unit now works but it still has the annoying bass fading characteristic. I have since bought another soundbar for another LG TV from another manufacturer for $100 less and am very satisfied with that one. I cannot recommend this product.

This soundbar is really nice except the inability to increase the volume of the subwoofer. The only reason I kept it is because the soundbar itself really does sound nice. For example Last of the Mohicans REALLY sounds nice when the volume is pumped up. Even though the subwoofer is kind of worthless I still recommend this soundbar.

I bought this soundbar in September 2021 and six later the subwoofer had no sound coming from. When it was working it sound nice. I have purchased LG products before and ever had any issues. LGs customer service gave me the run around by transferring me between service representative and not putting my claim through. I had to call a week later to find out the status of my claim. I was told that there was no claim submitted but there was a record of me calling. Just remember to follow up if you have to submit a claim.

Owned this item for just about a year. The wireless subwoofer will no longer connect to the soundbar. I gave it 3 stars because when it did work everything sounded great it was extremely easy to setup with my LG tv and the soundbar still works and sounds great despite the subwoofer going bad.

Beware: your sub woofer will stop working after a year and you will then be forced to deal with LGs sub par customer service on the phone or the sardonic customer support via Twitter. If you do decide that this product is for you get the Best Buy protection plan. UPDATE: I returned the subwoofer as advised I had to pay to have it boxed up. After a month I got my subwoofer back and it still does not connect to the soundbar. I spend 45-minutes on the phone and was advised I need to send it in AGAIN to be repaired. I am not sure what they did the first time it was repaired. I would wager that it wont work when they return this second time. I also wager I should start shopping for a new soundbar. Anyone want to buy my rear satellite speakers they work great but I am not going to throw any more money after poorly made LG products. My fingers are crossed that my LG TV washer and dryer dont fail next.
