I purchased this special order from Lowes. When I opened the cardboard box I found that one accessory bad was up against the condenser and crush some of the fins. This review is like another here and several elsewhere. The packaging of this is very poor. The fins can be repaired with a fin comb. But Ive read posts about LG window units being prone to condenser leaks. I did buy the extended warranty but Im afraid if I needed it the damage would void the warranty. Lowes has agreed to.let me return it. Which is not easy because it weighs 80lbs.

One Year and 2 Weeks - Unit Died

I purchased this unit for $540.27 including tax and picked it up 6/20/24. As the one year anniversary approached I kept receiving solicitations from LG to add an extended warranty which I declined. On 7/3/25 the unit stopped cooling. So 2 weeks out of warranty and I own scrap metal. Thanks LG

purchased two 12000BTU LG inverter air conditioners and one 10000BTU air conditioner to replace MEDIA ac factory recall these Ac run super quiet and very cold only have them for a week now very satisfied with them but for some reason the 10000 BTU unit is not as quiet as the others not a deal breaker I would consider hiring a profession AC installer as these unit are quite heavy about 90pounds and dont forget the heavy duty window bracket up to165 pounds each worth the price

Unit arrived damaged.

I did not install the unit in my window as it arrived damaged. The fins or metal blades on the left side of the inside part of the A/C were crushed or bent. Additionally the left side of the case and one of the panels were bent. I believe this damage resulted from inadequate packaging by LG and possibly mishandling during transit and delivery with the box likely oriented on its short side. Moreover one of the filler panels among the accessories was also bent. The plug and the bag containing the accessories were packaged against the inside part of the A/C and the fins or metal blades. I am returning the unit to BestBuy and hope they will order a replacement unit for me which I intend to personally pick up. I prefer not to risk another potential damage through UPS delivery. If BestBuy provides me with another damaged unit it suggests poor packaging by LG. Also are the filler panels installed at a slight angle so that there is a provision to tilt the case by one-half of an inch per instructions? I dont know. I hope LG can answer this question.

Very happy with ac unit. I have about 560 sq. ft. three sides get sun cools fine on 90 + days. Sleeve that unit fits in was not square on rear end. Tried to force to square came close but not square. Still unit works fine. Is quite you really cant tell when compressor is on. Also as mentioned in previous review watch model number it can be confusing.

I wanted a large AC that was quiet efficient and 110 volts. this 12k BTU LG unit fit the bill and I am quite happy with it Be aware that there are several very similar units. Watch the model numbers carefully when comparing prices from site to site. model LW1224IVSM uses dual inverters making it quiet and efficient but a little more expensive. Installation can be done from inside the house with the exception of 2 screws that secure the unit to the external case. Step by step instructions made the install easier than I expected. The only negative is I do not know where I will store this unit over the winter leaving it in the window is not recommended.

Comfort and Efficiency

The air conditioner was installed last week and it has already improved my life. Not only is it more energy efficient than our previous unit but it is quieter. We have not had to reset the breaker once The old unit only cooled one half of our living room this LG unit manages to cool the entire room possibly because of the placement if the vents. Also we used to have to set the old unit at 68 degrees but this unit is set at 72 degrees and provides much more cooling - my daughter who is sensitive to heat is very comfortable while I happily wear a sweater One more thing - it is much quieter than our old AC so we dont have to keep the TV volume so high.

Could be better for inverter technology

Air conditioner extremely large for only 12k BTU. Could have been designed much smaller. Much empty waste of space inside the unit. It does cool well. Only have this a month now. Two small lizards Entered from the side vents on the outside and died. Should also have a filter or smaller holes to prevent this from happening.
