TERRIBLE QA. A TOTAL DUD.

After paying to have this installed I plugged it in.....clunk clunk smell of burning rubber nothing. Total dud Nothing. Be careful - poor QA. Also very heavy and not so easy to install. Only to find it didnt work and I had to go through the major hassle of getting it out of the window. Now stuck in 90 degree weather without AC.

TLDR: Vent fan blades rubbed plastic housing Only evident when unit is not perfectly level. Had to trim them to stop the annoying clicking Its all good now but frustrating experience to get here. Unit arrived in good shape from Best Buy. Got it into the window and turned on just the fan and the slow click started started immediately think card in bike spoke - yes Im that old and sped up with the fan speed When I took it out and set it on a level surface to run it stopped. The slightest of tilt to the unit and it stated again. Rather than deal with returns and/or servicing I took the housing off and ran it. The slightest forward pressure on the plastic housing behind the fan as happens when the unit is slightly when installed started the clicking. I removed the housing and shaved off about 1/32 0.8mm from the top corner of each blade. Problem solved and more importantly wife is not going to make me return it and start the whole product search again. Runs super quiet now. Well find out this week how it performs as an A/C when the heatwave hits. Bottom line: LG - Just because you CAN design and build a machine with minimal clearances doesnt mean you should. Im sure this flaw doesnt show up on the level QC test stand but it does in the real world in a very annoying way.

Usually I dont even write reviews in the first place but in this case I am. If I could leave zero stars I would. Bought this air conditioner through this exact website at LG.com instead of going to a big box store because I wanted to support this business. Terrible idea after what I experienced. Once it was delivered to my door step I took it out of the box plugged the unit in and it would not even operate because it kept showing up an error code CH02. I called LG customer support the next day they ran me through all the different things to try getting the unit running and nothing worked to make it operational. They then asked me if I wanted a tech to come out and I said that was fine. They then mentioned there was not a tech in my area and that they would have to figure something else out and it could take up to 7 business days to find a tech that could come out then Id have to schedule a time with them. I proceeded by asking them if I could go ahead and just get a new unit delivered since it would take too long to fix and they said that was fine although I would have to talk with another department which was closed at that time. So I called the number they gave me the morning after and explained my situation. The lady I spoke with told me there was nothing they could do they could not send me another unit because FEDEX delivered the unit I have I wish I was making this up It was the option that LG.com gave me to have it delivered to my home and now they wont replace the unit because of a delivery service they choose to have on their website? They told me you can put the unit back in the box ship the unit back to us pay an enormous amount in shipping again and we will refund you the money and then you can buy another one on the website again Absolutely ridiculous I asked for a manager but they said there was not a manager there to talk to. It really seems like this company does not take care of its customers. Please take your money elsewhere as they will not make things easy for you.

I just finished installing this unit in my 200sqft shed. To be fair it dose have a high ceiling or no ceiling if you want to be technical. It also has no insulation and it is 95 here in Florida. The shed is 10 x 20 when I walk into the shed the AC is straight across the room from me. I can feel the air blowing but it is not very cool. If I step five 5 more into the shed I can feel cooler air and if I stand right in front of the unit I can feel cold air. If I move to the right or to the left even with the vents turned in that direction I can not feel any air at all. This units focus on efficiency and low noise levels made it completely miss the mark on cooling ability.

Product came with damaged some areas of smashed fins. Had it shipped from home depot by fed ex. Had to have help from family to return it because fed ex told me I would need to wait 24 hrs before anyone could possibly come. Mind you that its a weekend so no one is coming. Its HOT out also and I was waiting for this ac. I read several reviews that ac s arrived with damaged smashed rear fins areas. Strange why so many ppl have the exact problem. So much for this. Ill just put my 2019 ac back in that isnt a smart ac.

What is the difference between these models: LW1022IVSM LW1022FVSM Lg website and LW1022FVSM Amazon. The last 2 have the same model number but appear to have some changes physical ly.
