Extended warranties are usually very inexpensive and can save you thousands in the future. Some can even cover extra costs that result, such as cost of food that spoils when your fridge dies. It's simple and inexpensive to purchase extended warranties and one of the smartest ways to protect your investment.

Appliances can be large, heavy and expensive. You probably don't have the special tools or expertise needed to fix them in a crisis. Great Refrigerator Nice Layout.

This is the first large appliance I have purchased from LG but I am writing this using an LG monitor and its not my first. Unfortunately we got off to a bad start when I bought a refrigerator off the display floor from a well-known home improvement store. The store removed the water filter and I didnt know where to look for the missing filter. Because someone at the store made a mistake and my own lack of knowledge LG replaced the fridge under warranty. They will take care of my warranty needs. I apologize for this unfortunate event. Great fridge with a nice layout but at the price it should have had an ice dispenser in the door. Knowing LG quality I expect many years of good service.

New frig a replacement of a 2 year old frig that compressor failed. LG stood by their warranty and offered a generous replacement credit to use on their site. We purchased a new frig slightly different than the old one and had enough credit left over to save a third on a great TV. Which Im enjoying now.

Compressor Failed in my under 5 yr. old refrig.

I did not just purchase my LG refrigerator. In fact it was purchased in December of 2018 and on November 7 2023 I realized that it was no longer cooling my food neither refrigerated nor frozen. I called LG and she informed me - and I did know - that it was still under warranty and shed arrange for a repair person/technician to come out to look at it. He did come out the next day and said it needed a new compressor which would have to be ordered since he didnt have one in his truck nor was there one in the warehouse. He did return on Nov. 13 and installed the new compressor. I have received nothing digitally from LG though verifying all of this - the tech told me everything is digital and Id be receiving something. My RRN # is as follows: RNN231107018086. I hope to hear from someone at LG via email soon and honestly Im very disappointed to have had a problem with this refrigerator which is under 5 years old. My last fridge lasted 30 years Thank you.

This fridge totally broke down within 2 years after I bought it. First the icemaker failed it was not covered by the warranty. Then the compressor condenser failed I ended up throwing out about $150.00 worth of spoiled food. I bought a freezer for $212.00 to save the remainder of my food from spoiling.

Had for 1-1/2 years and freezing up. 10 phone calls for warranty. Told no service...get it fixed and submit bill. Got my local Home Depot involved and got a date for repair. First was cancelled next appt cancelled after the appointed time and third he came and said I needed a part. Then came an email saying they would send part for ME to install I called and said NO I will not install. Weve had this fridge for two years and have had so many issues. Unfortunately certain things like the ice maker are no longer covered under our warranty and they wanted to charge us $399 for a technician and all replacement parts. Weve already had the ice maker tubing replaced and its the same issue. If we would have know this is a common issue we wouldnt have purchased an LG fridge. It only gets 2 stars because it gets the job done. Go with a different fridge that doesnt break down every year. Were just waiting to see what other part fails to see if we need to replace it

Failed but fixed

The refrigerator died after three years and two months. The factory warranty was one year and my American Express card extended it but not far enough. The compressor is a known but not acknowledged problem in this refrigerator and to their credit LG extended the coverage out to five years. Once I found the right email address the repair was scheduled for two days later. It was ridiculously simple and easy. I was expecting a fight or at least some pushback.

After extensive research I decided to purchase an LG French door refrigerator. It wasnt love at first sight since instead of the doors closing solidly on their own I was always having to hear the alarm go off indicating that I had to go back and be sure the door was closed never had to do that with any other refrigerator before. But the kicker is that after having the refrigerator for 2 years the compressor went out. LG is supposed to be a solid appliance. All of my food 6 bags had to be tossed. Even though it was still under warranty I dont trust it. I dont stock up on food anymoremore expensive trips to the grocery store and I purchased a mini fridge to keep in the kitchen just in case it goes out again which Im thinking is a strong possibility since replacing a major component in a 2 year old refrigerator isnt a good sign of longevity. Needless to say my faith in LG products has been greatly reduced.

It works great and functionally makes sense. The water on the outside is very efficient and has never spilled for us even though its shallow. Weve had some issues with the freezer but it was setup error as the Fridge wasnt level and it made one side just slightly not sealed which led to it over freezing and leaking then needing to be dethawed. But once we adjusted it and leveled it properly its worked great Decent amount of Freezer space.

Right size fridge ends up being best buy for us

I bought this fridge more because of size restrctions for where it was gonna go but we ended up loving it more than we ever thought. I bought this refrigerator 1 year ago and I hate it. No matter what I do I cannot get the doors clean. I cannot adjust the shelves to put a gallon jug of tea in it. The coating on the front makes it impossible to get anything to stick to it.

Piece of junk refrigerator

I bought an LG refrigerator 2 years ago and the compressor broke. The product is under warranty. I called customer service this experience was the worst customer service I have ever received. I was lied to every time I called. This takes 2 days I call back in 2 days and get oh no this is 3 days to respond. I call back in 3 days and oh no this is 5 days to respond. I give them my land line and cell phone number. They send text supposedly to my landline and close the report when I dont respond. We start back on the 2 day response followed by the oh no its 3 days and of course followed by the 5 day response. Worst customer service worst product ever.

I bought the LG a few weeks ago. I had to purchase a smaller size to fit in my space. I was worried that it wasnt going to have enough storage inside. Storage for food is good but my only con would be that it does not hold a gallon of milk so I have to buy half gallons. Lucky for me I dont go through a lot of milk

If I could give this refrigerator negative stars I would. This refrigerators five year anniversary is this year. It has had three new compressors and the last time the tech replaced the compressor he did not change an air filter put too much refrigerant in it so the refrigerator flooded my wood floors causing permanent damage. I hired a technician from the appliance store where I bought this appliance to come out and repair the refrigerator. I paid a $50 diagnostic fee only to find out that I need to wait for LG to come and repair this refrigerator. It has been months and I cannot even reach a live person in service to schedule the repair. We ultimately ended up unplugging this refrigerator and getting a full-size refrigerator from Best Buy in our basement. This refrigerator not only cost us $2000 to purchase but weve lost over $100000 in food because of cooling issues and Im looking at $5000 of damage to my kitchen floor that my insurance company will not cover.

I like many have had the misfortune of a dead compressor on. Two year old frig. It quit freezing a couple months ago. I made a mistake and called Sears Appliance Service the technician was here 10min. Told me the compressor was dead it would be $1600. And I should call L.G. FOR WARANTEE repair. LG said yes and they would call me back in 3-5 days to schedule. Im crossing my fingers because I bought a complete kitchen appliance pkg. SUGGEST IF YOU BUY L.G. APPLIANCES BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY Rumor has it the repair could go bad too. Ive had refrigerators that ran for 20 years. 10 in the dusty garage. The USA needs to start manufacturing again

About two years ago 7/2021 I a bough a French door refrigerator this product makes me happy in many ways. The space and the compartments distribution for the different sections fridge vegetable fruits ice maker make it perfect and comfortable. However two weeks ago the compressor stopped working but LG was very diligent and fixed it within a week at not cost to mi because it has 5 years protection from the day I purchased it. Now I enjoying my fridge again.

Warranty terms not honored by LG

The refrigerator is beautiful and spacious although it is a compact model. It fits perfectly in a small kitchen. My issue is that the compressor malfunctioned after less than five years. The warranty says that LG covers parts and labor if it fails before five years but only parts were covered and I have been chasing them to get my labor expenses back. Still have not been reimbursed for the labor.

Looks nice but freezer drawer not closing tight

I bought this new refrigerator about 3 weeks ago. It looks nice but I have a problem with frost crystal build up n the freezer which is an indication that drawers arent closed properly. I have taken everything out including ice drawer and cant figure out what is causing problem. After googling this issue it seems to be a common problem. I guess I will have to call a repairman to fix even though brand new.

Disappointed and frustrated

So far this unit appears to be possessed. I expect the tech will be at my house sometime today - this is the third visit - trying to fix a weird malfunction in the water dispenser. I like the general set up of the fridge but the issue with the dispenser is a real problem. I have to keep a towel on the floor because it dispenses water automatically after each ice dump.

I bought this unit 6/13/2018 and was installed 7/01/2018 the freezer failed 10/15/2023 and refrigerator failed 10/14/2023 because its not the 1 covered part a few months outside warranty its now a huge money pit and all out of my pocket. LG should be ashamed. No way I was paying them to fix what should still be working My kids are grown Im single and wasnt using the ice maker. This wasnt user abuse. This was Epic Product Failure

Love the layout of the drawers and shelves

We really like the lay out of the drawers and set up. I was reluctant to get one with the freezer drawer but as it turns out there is more room in the refrigerator and it works really well. I was concerned the ice maker would not keep up with our consumption but the extra bin in the drawer solves that problem. We just empty the ice maker into the drawer every night and it keeps us ahead of our heavy use.

Refrigerator purchased in 2021 stopped working

Our refrigerator purchased in 2021 went out and we could not get any repairments for 11 days. The website says that our type of refrigerator supposed to last 12 to 13 years. When the technician finally showed up he told us that our type of refrigerator had a problem with the compressor going out to my knowledge there was not a recall to alert the consumer about this problem. Not only the compressor went out in our LG refrigerator but also the memory board and the capacitor. The technician who repaired our refrigerator informed us that we were going to be reimbursed for all the food we lost and asked us to contact LG for the refund. I called LG and was connected with a person in the Philipinnes that could only get WIFI reception by her chicken coop. The rosters were so loud that I couldnt hear her well. The refund check to help us cover part of the cost of all the food we lost has not arrived yet.

Bad Luck Charlie and Warranty Repair Headaches.

This is the second refrigerator Ive bought in 2 weeks. Brand X delivered the first brand Z refrigerator with a big dent and couldnt replace it for a month. We went to Brand Y and bought the LG which was delivered without a dent or scratch but no working water or ice dispensers. That was 2 weeks ago and still have not resolved the issue. No local LG repair in the frontier Territory of Wyoming so we are having to do it the hard way. I just hope we guessed right on which parts are the likely cause. Lgs people have been nice to work with but the software is sub-par. I shouldnt have to re-enter all my information including the model and serial every time I get an email or text and have to follow a link to LGs website. The consideration and genuine effort to resolve this problem by LGs people is the only reason I will continue to shop LG products. I hope this refrigerator turns out to be as good as their people.
