Would give it zero stars if I could. Nothing but problems in less than 5 months since I had this horrible beast delivered. Have already had 1 service call for insane loud noise which turned out to be that some part was not lubricated properly when manufactured. Service guy was great by the way. Now two weeks later the timer dial won't turn. Dryer just runs and runs until you stop it. Another service call request that I have to make! I didn't expect perfection with this dryer for the price compared to others I was looking at. But $852 with tax/delivery/install isn't really that inexpensive ð™ Still way too much than this dryer and the headaches it's caused me are worth!

This product was more bare bones than I thought it would be. Very basic. At nearly $600 i expected more. Not even a buzzer to alert that the cycle is done. The start button is cheap plastic, and the drying options are few. I have not yet used this dryer, so I can't comment on how well it works. Stay tuned.

Drys just fine. The dials are very stiff to turn. Door has to be slammed to shut. Start button can get stuck and you have to pull it out a little (which is very hard) and then push to start. For anyone with arthritis in your hands or wrists it would be OK if you have someone living with you to help.

I am sorry to report the gas dryer is not working properly. Unit was installed by a certified technician and after successful installation of the LPG (confirmed no leaks and that gas is reaching the unit) unit failes to heat. Comment by technician was that apparently the igniter is bad (or disconnected). To avoid affecting warranty I contacted seller (Home Depot) for a service - scheduled for next Monday 03/16/2026.

I bought this dryer to pair with a Hotpoint washer. The washer did not work right. The store owner came to look at it then exchanged it for another unit. Th second unit did not work either. It went back and they brought my old washer back. As for the dryer, I do not care for it when comparing it to other dryers I have had. Point # 1 There is no light to be able to see inside. # 2 The door does not open all the way. # 3 The door has to be slammed for the latch to catch and # 4 The vent screen does not slide into it's opening easily. On a more positive note it does dry the clothes.

This is a very good basic dryer, which is what I wanted. Only minor issue is the temperature knob is a bit "sloppy", so need to make sure you "click" exactly on the desired temperature setting. If not, the dryer will not heat.

I am disappointed with three features of this model...first, the unit does not turn off if the clothes are completely dried which causes the clothes to be so hot they can't bee touched immediately; second, the alarm to alert you that the dryer is shutting down is extremely loud; third, there are only three heat settings. high, medium and no heat; most dryers have a low heat setting

After the first week the buzzer will not stop going off every time I tried to start it. Apparently a known problem and most people just disconnect the buzzer. Repair man needed to order more parts, but that was two weeks ago. I just want to return the machine but home depot will not take it back.

It does not dry things well even when it is set on high temp. Took over 90 minutes to dry towels on high temp setting. Same thing with sheets. Blue jeans take longer to dry also because we do not use high temp to dry them. Drying time is much longer than our old dryer which was 25+ years old. And we only used the low and medium temperature setting on it. So, your Hotpoint dryer isn't so hot. Really disappointed.
